Dr. Bakal joined Capital Foot and Ankle in 2012. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. After college, she attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University. Her surgical residency was then completed at Kaiser Permanente, North Bay Consortium at Vallejo, Vacaville, Santa Rosa, and San Rafael. During her residency she also had surgical training at San Francisco General Hospital and Alameda County Hospital. Dr. Bakal has a special interest in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, ankle arthroscopy, and sports medicine. Her credentials include:

Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors, mountain biking, surfing and skiing. She has a special interest in animal rescue and plant-based nutrition.
