Jamie Bakal, DPM

Dr. Jamie Bakal joined Capital Foot and Ankle in 2012. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley.   After college, she attended the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University. Her surgical residency was then completed at Kaiser Permanente, North Bay Consortium at Vallejo, Vacaville, Santa Rosa, and San Rafael.   During her residency she also had surgical training at San Francisco General Hospital and Alameda County Hospital. Dr. Bakal has a special interest in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, ankle arthroscopy, and sports medicine.  Her credentials include:

 

Board Certified in Foot and Reconstructive/Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is also a volunteer for the Case review Committee.

 

Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor- California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel

Merritt University

 

Volunteer Clinical Instructor - University of California, Davis, School of Medicine

 

Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors, mountain biking, surfing and skiiing.  She has a special interest in animal rescue and plant based nutrition.

Mark Drake, DPM

Mark Drake was born and raised in the Roseville area. He is ABPM certified. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California at Davis. After attending the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University, he completed his surgical training at Hunt Regional Medical Center near Dallas TX. He has special interests in foot and ankle trauma, sports medicine, and wound care. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters. They enjoy doing outdoor activities including camping and swimming.

Barbara Ross, DPM

Barbara Ross grew up in Sacramento and received her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Southern California. She attended the Arizona School of Podiatric Medicine and completed her surgical residency at the Kaiser SF Bay Area Foot and Ankle Residency Program. She is board certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. She has participated in several medical missions to Central America, Mexico and Vietnam. During residency she did research on transmetatarsal amputations and melanoma of the foot. She has a clinical interest in sports medicine and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Barbara has run multiple marathons, including the California International Marathon in Sacramento, and also enjoys swimming.

James Kinchsular, DPM

Dr. Kinchsular has 10 years of experience treating foot and ankle injuries and deformities. He is board certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery.

Sean Nguyen, DPM

Born and raised in San Jose, Dr. Sean Nguyen completed his foot and ankle surgical residency through Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, as well as Kaiser Sacramento. He was drawn to podiatric medicine because it combines technical surgical care with the opportunity to restore mobility and improve patients’ quality of life.

Dr. Nguyen believes the best care begins by listening. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, explain treatment options clearly, and develop personalized plans that help patients return to the activities they enjoy.

Outside the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, staying active, and spending time with family and friends. He is proud to serve the Sacramento community and looks forward to building lasting relationships with his patients.
